Palm Trees for Sale in the Coachella Valley
California fan, Mexican fan, date, Mediterranean fan, and Bismarck palms, grown in our own Desert Hot Springs yard and sold retail and wholesale, from containers to large specimens.
Choose your palm
Every palm here is grown in the same heat, wind, and alkaline soil it’ll face in your yard. Stock and sizes change daily, so call for what’s in the ground right now.
California Fan Palm
Washingtonia filifera. The only palm native to California, found wild in Coachella Valley oases. Thick trunk, big fan leaves, extremely heat-tolerant.
Best for: large yards, entries, desert-oasis looks.
Mexican Fan Palm
Washingtonia robusta. The tall, slim skyline palm lining valley streets. Faster growing than the California fan, and it gets very tall.
Best for: streetscapes and drama where height is a feature.
Date Palm
Phoenix dactylifera. The Coachella Valley’s signature palm, with feathery fronds and a stout trunk. Large specimens come boxed or field-dug.
Best for: pools, courtyards, resort and commercial entries.
Mediterranean Fan Palm
Chamaerops humilis. A clumping, shrub-sized palm that often stays under 10–15 feet. Very tough in heat and wind.
Best for: small yards, planters, eye-level screening.
Bismarck Palm
Bismarckia nobilis. Striking silver-blue fan leaves and a bold, architectural shape. Needs room to spread and some protection on the coldest nights.
Best for: statement plantings and modern landscapes.
Don’t see your palm?
Call us. Our yard changes every day, and if it grows in the low desert we probably have it or can get it.
From containers to tall specimens
Smaller palms are sold by container size. Larger palms are usually sized by trunk height and sold boxed or field-dug for instant impact.
- Container palms for planters, small yards, and mass plantings
- Boxed palms for pools, entries, and courtyards
- Field-dug specimens sized by trunk height
- Matching sets for streetscapes and HOA entries
Palm planting tips for the desert
- Plant in warm weather. Palms root best from late spring through summer, when the soil is warm.
- Brace new palms until they root, especially in windy Desert Hot Springs and Sky Valley.
- Don’t over-prune. A “hurricane cut” that strips fronds weakens the palm.
- Skip queen palms in the low desert; they often yellow in our heat and alkaline soil.
